Thai Characters For Thai Occasions

Where there’s a festival there’s a character, where there’s a character there’s a festival, that seems to be the way in Thailand. Festivals, meets, sporting occasions and shows more than occasionally throw up a colorful character or two.

Colourful Thai characters
Patriotic, colourful and proud to be Thai.

The first two photos were taken at the Pattaya Marathon, these guys get around though, I saw them on TV cheering Thailand on at a South-east Asian sporting event.

This is Thailand.

Characters don’t come much colourful than this, photo taken at the Pattaya Bike Week.

The colourful character on the wacky looking bike was at the Pattaya Bike Week.

Thais like to make a song and dance at festivals, this colourful character was at the Pattaya Bike Week.
Colourful, musical, no Thai festival is complete without an array fancy characters.

Music to the ears !, the violinist was also at the Pattaya Bike Week.

Festivals and occasions are a song and dance in Thailand.

These guys [above] were making a song and dance at the 2009 Pattaya Marathon.

Thai Indian
An Occasional Red Indian !!.

Should that not be a “pipe of peace” in his hand, another from the Pattaya Bike Week.

Thailand's very own Captain Jack Sparrow.
A perfect occasion for Thailand’s very own Jack Sparrow.

Captain Jack Sparrow, I reckon this guy [see photo above] looks more Jack Sparrow the Johnny Depp does. And he certainly gets around, he’s a regular at the Pattaya Floating Market, on this occasion he was at the Pattaya Bike Week though.

looks like a shaman, photo taken at the Pattaya Bike Week.
He looks a little bit tribal, a little bit Shamanic, maybe he’s a Tribal Thai Shaman.

I don’t know what to make of this one [photo above], he certainly has an African tribal look, and he looks like he could be a shaman, any ideas ??.
