The worlds longest kiss record was smashed on valentines day, the annual Pattaya event started on the 13th of February at “Ripleys Believe It Or Not” in the Royal Garden Plaza on Pattaya Beach Road. The world record attempt finished when only one couple from the starting 7 were left kissing and the new world record for the longest kiss was set at 50 hours, 25 minutes and 1 second, beating the old record by over 4 hours.

Surprisingly or not the winning couple and new Guinness world record holders of the longest kiss are both men, Nontawat Jaroengsornsinpose and Thanakorn Sittiamthong (see photo below) were the only gay couple to enter and they take the record from former record holders Ekkachai and Laksana Tirinarat, also of Thailand.

The winners and new longest kiss world record holders reportedly claimed prizes of a 30000 dollar diamond wedding ring and a 6000 dollar hotel voucher.

All the competing couples had to remain within a 1 meter area, even when nature called, a referee would accompany the couple to the toilet to make sure the kiss was not broken, Can you imagine how embarrassing that must be for all concerned, the kissing couples must have found themselves in some very compromising positions, “to say the least”.

I’m quite sure none of the participating couples would say they enjoyed the experience, far from looking passionate, they looked like they were enduring a kiss of death.

The worlds longest kiss is definitely not a spectator event but the lovely female commentator (pictured above) did her best to keep the spectator spectators interested.

The Guinness world record certificate (see photo above) awarded to the 2011 winners with a time of 46 hours, 24 minutes and 9 seconds.
World’s Longest Kiss Updated February 2013.
The previous record for the world’s longest kiss, previously set in 2012 by 2 men has once again been broken in Pattaya on Valentines Day 2013. The new record time now belongs to Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat from Bangkok, the pair managed an absurdly passionate new record time of 58 hours, 35 minutes, 58 seconds. Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat are no strangers to the art of marathon kissing, they previously held the record in 2011. The two times world champion kissers were awarded a prize of 100,000 baht prize money and 2 diamond rings.
