Dongtan and Pattaya Park Beaches

Updated December 15, 2019 By Darren C

There isn’t really anything which divides Pattaya’s Dongtan and Pattaya Park beaches, they are both tranquil and spacious, certainly two of the most serene beaches in Pattaya. Dongtan beach does have a reputation for being Pattaya’s “gay beach”, but the only noticeable thing which may distinguish it as Pattaya’s gay beach is the presence of Male masseurs on the beach, but this is concentrated around Dongtan Beach and you notice it less as you approach Pattaya Park Beach, not that this is something you should worry about, Dongtan beach is still very much a family beach.

Pattaya Jomtien sub police station
Sub-Police station at the southern end of Dongtan Beach.

Pattaya’s Dongtan and Pattaya Park beaches are a continuation of Jomtien Beach, but without the traffic of Jomtien Beach Road behind them. Where Thappraya Road meets Jomtien Beach Road at the northern end of Jomtien Beach, Dongtan Beach begins and continues north to Pattaya Park Beach, and beyond that is Phratumnak Beach. You will see the small police station, call this your starting point to Dongtan Beach, from here to the end of Pattaya Park Beach is roughly 1.15 kilometers.

Dongtan Beach Walk
Beach walk.

There is a well maintained path which takes you all the way to Phratumnak beach, you can also access Pattaya Park from here, there are also 2 or 3 resorts which have dining facilities along the pathway.

Beach
Pattaya Dongtan Beach.

A beach in Pattaya
One of the most tranquil beaches in Pattaya.

Looks almost perfect don’t you think, Pattaya’s Dongtan and Pattaya Park beaches offer a good mix of seating, service, space and tranquility.

Beach Paradise
Pattaya beach bliss.

You won’t struggle to find a deck chair on Dongtan and Pattaya Park Beach, and you won’t struggle to find a quiet shady spot under the trees either, it’s a perfect spot for a picnic, bring your own beach mat and cool box then enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Lifeguard Tower
Lifeguard !!.

See the Lifeguard Tower (picture above), these are commonplace on most of the Pattaya Beaches, unfortunately the lifeguards are not so common. You see one in the third photo from the top also, at least that one is being put to good use as a P.L.P, “Public Leaning Post”.

Fish Trap on the Beach
Authentic Pattaya beach.

You can guarantee a touch of authenticity on most of Pattaya’s beaches, be it boats, fish traps or spirit houses.

The Beach
Scenic beach !.

This is how a beach be, lots of space, definitely one of the best beaches in Pattaya for children, lots of room for them to run around and a safe swimming area.

Thailand Beach
Beach activities ?, not for me.

What’s good about Dongtan and Pattaya Park beaches.

  • One of the best beaches in Pattaya for children.
  • Good service and facilities, food, drink, toilets.
  • Well maintained footpath all the way to Pratumnak Beach.
  • Large motorcycle parking area.
  • Lots of shady areas under the trees, ideal for a picnic.
