Downtown Pattaya is a wonderfully convenient place to stay; most everything you need is within walking distance or can easily be reached by just hopping on a baht bus.
The problem with staying in downtown Pattaya, well, perhaps it’s not a problem for everyone, but there might be no escaping downtown Pattaya. By varying degrees, there’s no escaping the overly loud music from a nearby bar complex, the sight and sound, even the smell of traffic, or maybe even an over-exuberant security guard’s whistle.
You can escape downtown Pattaya, though, completely. I don’t mean literally by staying somewhere else. And I don’t mean by retiring to your hotel room, closing the curtains, and donning ear defenders.
Right in downtown Pattaya, more precisely, on Pattaya Beach Road and just behind Walking Street, there are four of Pattaya’s biggest and best resort hotels.
Being typical ‘resort-style hotels, they are spacious and have extensive gardens, large swimming pools, places to relax outdoors, and places to places to play.
They are, in fact, great places to be, cool places to hang out. They are a retreat, a haven, a self-contained oasis within but separated from anything and everything else that might be happening in Pattaya.
These hotels are right on the baht bus route, and if you’re unfamiliar with baht buses, you will find this guide to getting around Pattaya very useful.
For more information about each hotel, clicking on the links will open the hotel info page on Agoda.com. There are many genuine user reviews for each of these hotels on Agoda, and if you are booking within Thailand, you can book without a credit card.

If you enjoy the peace and quiet of resorts like these, I suggest you also consider a beach-front resort. There are some fantastic resorts on the beachfront in Pattaya, and they are still conveniently located nearby.
TIP: If you’re visiting Pattaya during the low season, the reduced rates might just be the perfect opportunity to enjoy a little otherwise unaffordable luxury.
Check the rates from May and June to mid-October and November 1st for low-season deals.
