Can we go to the market: Will you buy me something.
I’m just texting my friend: I’m arranging to meet my next customer.
I must go, I come back soon: I have a short time customer.
I borrowed money, can you help me pay her back: I have to pay my gambling debt.
Best you come to Thailand next month: One of my other boyfriends is here right now, and he goes home next month.
Sorry, my phone had no battery: I was busy with a customer.
My father’s buffalo is sick: Please send a small amount of money.
My family house needs new roof: Please send a large amount of money.
My family house very old now, always problem: Will you buy my family a new house.

This is my brother: This is my husband.
Dahk ling: A playful term often used by bar girls towards foreign men because it sounds like “darling,” but it’s actually Thai slang meaning “monkey arse.”
Pattaya Bar and Adult Entertainment Terminology
Here is some common terminology used in the extended Pattaya bar and adult entertainment scene.
Girlie bars: An umbrella term for the various types of bars and clubs where bar girls work. For example, beer bars, gogo bars, short-time bars, and gentleman’s clubs.
Lady drinks: The drinks you buy for bar girls. They usually cost more than standard drinks, and the girls earn commission when you buy one for them.
Bar fine: The fee you have to pay the bar before a girl can leave with you.
Short time (ST): a term used when you only spend an hour or two with someone.
Long time (LT): A longer period, most commonly overnight.
Long long time (LLT): When you spend a day or longer with someone, such as happens with a holiday girlfriend.
Boom Boom: A slang term for sex, most commonly used by bar girls in Pattaya.
Soapy: If someone asks if you’ve had a soapy, they’re referring to a soapy massage.
Happy ending: Also known as a special massage, it’s a term used to describe the additional services offered at some massage parlors in Pattaya.
Guest friendly: Usually refers to guest friendly hotels in Pattaya, and means hotels that allow you to bring guests for free.
Sponsor: A man, often one of many, who regularly provides financial support to a bar girl or freelancer.
Monger: A slang name for a sex tourist or sexpat who regularly visits Pattaya’s bars and other adult entertainment venues in search of boom boom and female companionship.
FL: Abbreviation for freelancer, a woman who works independently, seeking customers in nightclubs, freelancer-friendly bars, along Beach Road, and on dating apps.
TF: An abbreviation for one of the most popular Thai dating apps among mongers in Pattaya.
Ploy: A very common female nickname in Thailand, often used to refer to Thai women in general, and also widely used as a generic name for Thai bar girls and other women working in Pattaya’s adult entertainment scene.
The Six: A nickname for Soi 6. Other common nicknames include Soi Filth, Soi Sex, and Soi Half a Dozen.
WS: Abbreviation for Walking Street.
The Coconut Bar: A nickname for Pattaya Beach Road, where freelance girls are often seen hanging out underneath the coconut trees.
GC: A commonly used abbreviation for gentleman’s clubs in Pattaya.
Perhaps the most poignant of all is the often-heard saying, “You never lose your girlfriend in Pattaya, you only lose your turn.” A tongue-in-cheek reminder that relationships in Pattaya’s nightlife scene are often neither long-term nor exclusive.
