After viewing photos of Pattaya Bay in the 1960s and 70’s then comparing those images to recent photos of Pattaya Bay, you realize just how quickly Pattaya has and still is developing.
These images (below) were taken at the Pattaya Viewing Point in 2017 and 2011. When you compare the images, it is very noticeable that the Pattaya skyline includes several new tower blocks.
If you happen to visit the Pattaya Viewing Point you will also witness evidence of this rapid and sometimes unwelcome development literally towering over you.

The photo above was taken in March 2017. It’s difficult to be precise, but I counted approximately 10 tower blocks more than in the photo (below) taken in 2011.


If the Waterfront building ever gets finished, it will offer its residents some of the finest views in all of Pattaya, but for visitors to the Pattaya Viewing point, it will be viewed as a blot on the landscape.
