Effective Ant Killer in Pattaya

Updated December 12, 2018 By Darren C

Looking for an effective ant killer in Pattaya ?, so was I, and after a little trial and error I found an effective ant killer, and it’s available at many supermarkets Pattaya. I’m not saying this is going to work every time, but of the 3 ant poisons I tried it’s the only one which was effective. Different species of ants, and the ant colonies stage of developement often means the ants change their feeding habits.

The “ARS” ant poison (pictured above) is available at Friendship supermarket on South Pattaya Road. This was the most effective of the three ant poisons, in the packet there is a plastic container in which you place the ant poison, and one sachet of poison. Priced at 49 baht it’s the most expensive, unfortunately i could not find any sachets of “ARS” ant killer sold individually, which would keep the cost down as the containers are re-usable.

Also available from Friendship, the ant killer pictured above is a cheaper alternative to the “ARS”, you get 2 sachets for 25 Baht. This one was less effective, taking longer before the ants would feed on it, and eventually they lost interest.

The least effective ant killer (pictured above) had a very minimal effect, the only success I had with this one was short lived, the ants fed on it and died before they could carry it back to the nest and feed it to the rest of the colony.

The “ARS” ant killer is supplied with a plastic container, empty the contents of the sachet into the container, the ants enter the container via small holes on the bottom edge.

I placed 2 containers side by side, one containing “ARS” ant killer, and one with the cheaper ant poison (see the second photo from the top) , also available at Friendship supermarket in Pattaya. The ants soon showed their interest in the “ARS” poison and eventually carried all the poison back to their nest. They did eventually start to feed on the cheaper poison but only partially emptied the container before losing interest.

In the photo above you see the ants taking the poison back to their nest, there was so many there that they were queuing up to get in. You can see a comparison in the video below, first is the “ARS” and the cheaper alternative pictured in the second photo from the top, the “ARS” is the container on the right.

Ant Poison Tips

  • Place the poison on the ants trail, preferably close to the nest.
  • You may have to repeat the process for several days to remove multiple ant colonies.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not place the ant poison where birds or other animals might feed on it.
