Cable Wakeboarding in Pattaya

Updated April 19, 2023 By Darren C

Cable wakeboarding is not new to Pattaya; there was previously a long-established wakeboarding park called Lakeland Cable Ski, which unfortunately has now closed. Never fear; a new cable wakeboarding park called Thai Wake Park has opened in East Pattaya.

Seeing as my son was meeting friends there, I thought I would go check the place out and get a few wakeboarding photos for the blog. For more information about admission costs and the location of Thai Wake Park, just scroll down to the bottom of the page.

There are two lakes at Pattaya’s Thai Wake Park, one for novices and one for more advanced wakeboarders. A complete circuit around the main lake is around 700 to 800 meters, by my calculation. The main lake also has a handful of jumps and ramps. All equipment is included in the price, including wakeboards, kneeboards, life-jacket, and safety helmets.

What is Cable Wakeboarding?

Wakeboarding is a little like water skiing, except instead of being towed by a boat, you are being pulled by an electric-powered cable suspended a few meters above the lake. At Thai Wake Park in Pattaya, the cable does a complete circuit of the lake. You can choose to use a wakeboard or a kneeboard. The wakeboard is very similar to a snowboard, and the kneeboard looks like a miniature surfboard.

Who Should Try Wakeboarding in Pattaya?

Wakeboarding looks like fun if you’re feeling energetic. Wakeboarding is one of many fun and thrilling things to do in Pattaya, and like so many other activities in Pattaya. It is something not unique to Pattaya, but it’s certainly not commonplace in Thailand. So if you fancy a challenge or something different, or maybe you always fancied water skiing, perhaps you should give it a go.

Age Restrictions at Pattaya Thai Wake Park

I don’t see any information about minimum age restrictions on their Facebook page (see below), but I feel there surely must be some, so please contact them first if you plan on taking young children wakeboarding.
