I previously wrote about this wonderful beach back in 2011, but since then it has undergone a major re-vamp, and I don’t think the photos I added to the original post did this little gem of a beach any justice at all, but nevertheless that first post is still a pretty good description of Krating Lai Beach, and it includes a map. Rather than update that post I thought it would be better to include some large scale photos on a new page, and look at Krating Lai Beach from a slightly different perspective and lend it some better quality photos to do it justice, because I must say this is the most beautiful beach in Pattaya, in my opinion, despite anything I said previously.
First of all, let me tell you one thing about Krating Lai Beach, as I already pointed out in the first post, it is very muddy and not really suitable for bathing, unless you like mud. Nothing wrong with the beach, a nice reddish sand like most beaches, but beyond the waterline there lies a helping of good old sticky mud.
Why is Krating Lai the most beautiful beach in Pattaya ?.
I hope the photos will highlight all that is good about Krating Lai Beach, but I will try to add a sentence or 2 to point out the good points.

Despite it being unsuitable for bathing, it’s still one of the best beaches for kids in Pattaya, simply because they can run around and enjoy themselves without worrying about kicking sand in someones face.

The sunsets are fantastic, because of the geographical location you don’t merely see the sun setting over a blank ocean horizon (see photo above).
To accompany the beautiful sunset there is often a wonderful red glow in the sky to add to the peaceful atmosphere.

Someone spent a lot of money on this re-vamping of Krating Lai Beach, and it has been very effective. It’s a great place to have a stroll or take advantage of the shaded seating.

The footpaths are kept immaculately clean, and surrounded by sumptuous greenery. The photo (above) was taken behind the Bella Villa Cabana Resort, which begs the question, did they fund the re-vamping ?.

The “new look Krating Lai Beach” (photo above) is tastefully done without spoiling the natural beauty and character of the place. The work has been extensive though, and you have to wonder if it’s a little too much for such a quiet beach.

Along with the newly planted trees, colorful seating and immaculate footpaths, there are numerous exercise stations like this one (photo above). At the northern most end there is even a little skateboard park, consisting of a ramp and rails.
Why is Krating Lai the most unpopulated beach in Pattaya
The fact that it’s not suitable for swimming is probably the biggest turn off, it is also a long way off the beaten track, and many people don’t even know it’s there. It is without doubt though, one of the most charming beaches in Pattaya, well worth a visit to one of the beach restaurants to eat and watch the sunset, or come in the afternoon for some exercise.
