Soi 6, one of Pattaya’s most famous bar and naughty nightlife streets, is a 340-meter-long street situated about 600 meters north of Central Pattaya Road and between Beach Road and 2nd Road.
Soi 6 is best known for its many girlie bars, famed for its scantily dressed girls, and most visited for a “short time.”
Some alternative names are Soi Yodsak, Soi Half Dozen, The Six, and perhaps more descriptively and sometimes objecionally—Soi Sex and Soi Filth.
While single men who frequent Soi 6 to meet bar girls in Pattaya might find it somewhat alluring and inviting, a family with young children will almost certainly find it lewd and forbidding.
What girls employed at the popular girlie bars on Soi 6 wear for work is often uniform, sexy, and small.
What ladyboys on Soi 6 and Soi 6/1 wear is often less than the girls, and you might encounter a Pattaya pop-up ‘Lesser Dressed Ladyboy’ at any time of day.
Businesses on Soi 6
Aside from the Queen Victoria pub and restaurant, a massage parlor or two, a pharmacy, and one or two other small businesses, Soi 6 is predominantly a street of bars.
Both sides of the 4.5-meter-wide street are populated with mainly open-fronted 3-storey shophouse-style bars.
There are 70–80 bars on Soi 6, each typically staffed by 10 or more girls. Although Soi 6/1 is better known as a place to meet ladyboys in Pattaya, as is common in most adult nightlife areas in Pattaya, some of the girls on Soi 6 are ladyboys.
Most bars on Soi 6 open around 1 PM to 2 PM and close at around 1 AM and 2 AM. The best time to visit is from mid-afternoon onwards when the bars are fully staffed.
It’s quite a spectacle, even an experience walking the virtual gauntlet of girls trying to tempt and even pull passersby into their respective bars.
Like Walking Street and Soi Buakhao, though, it’s an excellent spot for people-watching. So if you want to enjoy a cold beer while watching the daily “goings on” of Soi 6, the girls won’t be offended if you politely decline their company and don’t buy them drinks.
Hotels in Pattaya Near Soi 6
The Queen Victoria aside, hotels on Soi 6 are scarce. There are, though, lots of hotels near Soi 6, including hotels on Pattaya Beach Road and the sois (streets) nearby, many of which are popular guest-friendly hotels in Pattaya, more suitable for single men visiting for nightlife and to meet girls.
Prices on Soi 6
Prices for “everything” on Soi 6 are reasonable compared to other naughty nightlife (red light) areas in Pattaya; beers cost 80–100 baht, and lady drinks about 150 baht.
You won’t find the cheap happy-hour beer prices of Soi Buakhao, but neither will you find overly expensive prices for beer like on Walking Street.
