Pattaya Long Boat Races 2011

Updated March 8, 2017 By Darren C

Here’s a collection of photos from the Pattaya Long Boat Races which took place on the 19th and 20th of November, the long boat races are now an annual event in Pattaya. This year was the 11th year of the Pattaya Long Boat Races at Mabprachan Lake, East Pattaya. Rowing teams from many regions of Thailand, plus teams from Cambodia, China, Hong Kong and various other countries competed for trophies and cash prizes. There were various categories, long boats, longer boats, and really long boats, crews varied from 12 to 55 rowers, or oarsmen.

The Thai long boats are certainly elegant looking boats, the extended pole at the prow of the long boats adds a little grace and charm to their appearance.
