No doubt the world press, especially the UK tabloid newspapers’ constant bad publicity has only concreted the perception that Pattaya is seedy, unfit, and only frequented by mongers (sex tourists and sexpats) and sex workers.
But I like to think the majority of readers who used the polls on my blog have qualified opinions of Pattaya, that they have experienced Pattaya either as a tourist or spent some time living in Pattaya.

Not surprisingly, an overwhelming majority believe Pattaya will not survive without the sex industry. It’s difficult to assess how seriously the authorities are taking their pledge to stamp out the sex industry in Pattaya, they certainly seem convinced there is a future for Pattaya without any sex tourism.

Pattaya is the best place for ex-pats to live in Thailand and a favorite hideout for foreign criminals, both of which have feelings of empathy for sex workers.
While it’s mainly a party town dependent on sex tourism and a paradise for hedonists, growing too big, and not “real Thailand” Pattaya has something for everyone, including great shopping, and is suitable for families with children despite all the scammers.
According to opinion, Thai women are adored for their oriental good looks and femininity. On the other hand, Thai women are only interested in foreign men for financial gain. Pattaya bar girls are sexy and fun but might not be good wives.
