I believe Pattaya is the best place to live as an ex-pat in Thailand. But to be honest I’m not the best qualified to judge, so I decided to put it to the polls. I know many of you, like me have only lived in Pattaya, some of you left Pattaya for various reasons, some of you would never even consider living in Pattaya.
Pattaya has everything an ex-pat could want: I’ve often considered other places to live, many of my friends have left Pattaya for Chaing Mai and Hua Hin, some have settled in rural villages. But when I weigh up the pros and cons of living in Pattaya opposed to such other places, I’m convinced Pattaya has more to offer. I know Pattaya’s seedy reputation deters many ex-pats, and increasing traffic congestion is a major headache.
The advantages on living in Pattaya are, close to Bangkok and the airport, great shopping for western goods and foods, good choice of international and multi language schools, superb choice of entertainment and sporting facilities, western and international dining options. There’s also several beaches in Pattaya, not the best beaches in Thailand, but that brings us to another plus for living in Pattaya, the close proximity to the beautiful island retreats of Koh Lahn, Koh Chang and Koh Samet.
Best place place to live/reside in Thailand: This is not just a “yes or no” poll, but if you don’t like any of the options or you would simply like to vote “no” you can select “any place but Pattaya”. POLL CLOSED
