I love the Songkran festival in Pattaya just as much as anybody else who enjoys participating. Everyone has their own favorite way of enjoying what is perhaps the largest participation event in the world, whether it’s getting right amongst the action or spectating from the relative safety of a bar.
For me, Songkran in full swing is a spectacle that shouldn’t be missed, but, armed with a camera, not a water cannon or similar weapons of choice.
It’s a great opportunity to capture reactions, drunken revelry, and scenes of seemingly wild abandon, at a time when people really don’t care.
Below, are a few of my favorite photos taken during the Songkran festival in Pattaya over a number of years.
