I’m from Lancashire in the United Kingdom. I had an ordinary life, doing ordinary jobs – mainly manual work in factories. I never married in The U.K but came close. Like most people at some point in their lives, I got itchy feet, so me and a friend decided enough was enough, packed our backpacks and headed to Pattaya.
Of course, we planned to move, to see the world, to find our place. You might call it fate, I never moved on, I was a failed backpacker, but hey, I found my place. That was in 1999, and after a short spell back in the UK to do a commercial diving course I returned to Pattaya in July 2000 to build my new life.
Since returning to Pattaya I’ve married, and have two sons, I’m living an ordinary life in an extraordinary place, and loving it.
I have to confess, I don’t like my job, being offshore for weeks on end sucks, but if you’re interested, I did have a very special encounter with a sea turtle, which went viral.
As for the blog, I started Pattaya Unlimited in 2009. I was looking for a new hobby, so i tried blogging, and found I absolutely love it.
It’s not a personal blog as such, but it’s written with the benefit of my personal experiences in Pattaya. I’ve learned a lot about Pattaya since I started the blog, and a lot about Thai culture, I had to and I wanted to.
I really hope you find the blog useful, maybe you will find a nice place to stay, have some fantastic experiences, find some great deals, and get best from your visit to Pattaya. On that note, if it’s your first time in Pattaya start here.
