2600 Monks in Pattaya

Updated July 5, 2024 By Darren C

The huge gathering of Buddhist Monks outside Pattaya City Hall has become an Annual event in Pattaya. The Monks from temples around Thailand gather to raise funds by collecting alms and charitable donations for less fortunate Buddhist temples in the troubled southern districts of Thailand.

The reason for 2,600 monks gathering at this time was to mark 2,600 years of Buddhist Jayanti. In other words, 2,600 years since the birth of Buddha himself.

It all made for a pretty impressive sight, as many events in Pattaya do. So I will just leave you with a few photos of 2,600 Bubbhist Monks in Pattaya.

Something related, with a Buddhist theme that you might like is the beautiful unforsaken temple over the sea at the northern end of Krating Lai Beach in Pattaya.
