Pattaya Traffic Nam

Updated July 18, 2024 By Darren C

Fon tok mahk brought excessive nam, and left Pattaya in a bit of a jam. October certainly went out with a bang in Pattaya, strong winds, black skies, an awesome thunder and lightning show, and a torrential downpour. It was the mother of all storms, the likes of which I’ve never seen in Pattaya before or anywhere else if I’m honest. That was the last day of October 2014, a month which, according to the weather website”Wunderground,” saw over 390 millimeters of rainfall in October, a very wet month indeed.

These photos (below) were taken in East Pattaya, mainly Soi Nerplubwan, during and after the storm. No area of Pattaya escaped the storm, and flash flooding effectively turned every highway into a waterway.

By the way, the title is not a typo. Nam is the Thai word meaning “water,” and it just happens to rhyme with jam.
