The Skink is one of the most shy lizards you will come across in Thailand, the majority of all skink species prefer to live underground, if they are not underground they are often hiding under rocks or other suitable hiding places. They are quite distinguishable due to their sleek and shiny appearance. People living in countries such as Thailand, which are heavily populated with snakes, are likely to mistakenly think that they have seen a snake when first catching sight of a skink. The Skinks lack of a defined neck, it’s small limbs, and sometimes snake like movement can sometimes make it appear very much like a snake.
