You can use this tip to get the hotel room you really want – need, or must have anywhere on planet earth, but you’re going to find this especially useful to get the hotel room you really want in Pattaya, Thailand.
There’s a lot of hotels and every other type of accommodation you can think of in Pattaya. Performing a filter search on Agoda is a great way to find hotels within your budget – the location you prefer – required facilities & services, and it works really well.
So finding suitable hotels in Pattaya is not a problem. The problem is finding the perfect room for your needs, a room that serves your purpose, and has everything you desire and require from a hotel room.
There’s one easy step you can take towards making sure you make the right choice, and that is to contact the hotel.
Don’t worry, there’s no need to waste precious time searching for all the hotel websites and then finding their contact details, you can contact the hotels right from the Agoda website.
How contacting the hotel makes it easy to get the room you really want
There’s many different reasons you might want to contact the hotel, here’s some examples, below.
There’s a high rise hotel with a choice of city views, or magnificent sweeping views of Pattaya Bay. You want to know if a room on a high floor with a view of Pattaya Bay will be available on your chosen dates – you also want to know if there is a balcony – and if there is seating on the balcony.
You’re single male coming to Pattaya to enjoy the nightlife and have some fun. You found a really cheap hotel close to the nightlife spots, but you need to know if the hotel will allow you to take overnight guests back to your room free of charge.
You found several family friendly hotels in Pattaya, and you need to base your choice on some of the finer details such as, is the kids club free – is the kids club supervised – is the babysitting service free – is there a kids menu – is there a children’s swimming pool.
Even the minor details can be the difference between a deal breaker or deal maker
Here’s a few details you might want to know about your hotel room. Is there free tea & coffee – free bottled water – walk-in shower – spare bedding – clothes iron – blackout curtains – what’s for breakfast – what time is breakfast – is there a wake up call – is there a balcony – is there direct access to the beach.
It can come right down to your personal preference. You might choose a hotel because it’s the only hotel in Pattaya which shows English Premier League games – BBC news or in-house movies, or because it provides in-room massage services.
How to contact the hotel
All you need to do is sign up with Agoda and search for hotels, on each hotel page along with the hotel details there are “ask about this room” and “Ask the property” buttons, clicking on either of those will open a message window. Just type your question and click on send, the reply will go to your personal email inbox.
TIP: keep it simple, remember most hotel managers and front desk staff in Thailand are Thai, so English and other foreign languages are their second language.
TIP: If you are asking about availability of a particular room type, example: you want a high floor and room with a balcony and view of Pattaya Bay. Make sure you add your arrival and departure dates to your message.
TIP: If you want to ask multiple questions, use a list rather than ask them in a sentence. It’s much easier for them to answer because they can copy and paste the text in to the reply then simply answer each question in turn. See example below.
- Does the room have a balcony?
- Is there a walk-in shower?
- Is there free tea and coffee in the room?
- Is there a stocked mini bar?
- Is there direct access to the beach?
- Is the kids club free?
Taking it one step further
I would only consider this if you are prepared to pay more for the free cancellation option. You could book the room want, let’s say it’s that room with a balcony on a high floor, the one with a view over Pattaya Bay. Then you can contact the hotel, give them your booking details and then confirm that they have reserved the very room you want. If they have not, and cannot promise you that room, you can cancel for free.
I recommend you also save your email correspondences with the hotel to add weight to your argument in the event of any misunderstanding.
Finding the room you really want is not always an easy task, so hopefully this information will help you choose, and make the right choice for you. Thanks for reading.
