Fon tok mahk, brought excessive nam, and left Pattaya, in a bit of a jam. October certainly went out with a bang in Pattaya, strong winds, black skies, an awesome thunder and lightning show, and a torrential downpour. It was the mother all storms, the likes of which I’ve never seen in Pattaya before, or anywhere else if I’m honest. That was the last day of October 2014, a month which according to weather website”wunderground” saw over 390 millimeters of rainfall in October, a very wet month indeed.
These photos (below) were taken in East Pattaya, mainly Soi Nerplubwan, during and after the storm, but no area of Pattaya escaped the storm, flash flooding effectively turned every highway in Pattaya to a waterway.
By the way, the title is not a typo, nam is the Thai word meaning “water”, and it just happens to rhyme with jam.
